Case studies
At the centre of PSI-connect is the
further development and testing of Knowledge Brokering Instruments
in 'real life policy situations'. Knowledge Brokering Instruments
are methods or tools which aim to increase the quality of
science-policy interactions. PSI-connect will bring together
scientists, policy makers and stakeholders to experiment with
different types of knowledge brokering instruments in real life
policy situations at three levels of governance, namely the EU,
national and regional level.
In each case study, PSI-connect have:
-
worked closely with policy makers and
stakeholders to articulate the knowledge needs in the specific
policy trajectory
-
tailored the candidate knowledge
brokering instruments to and tested them in the individual policy
situations in the case study sites
-
evaluated their functioning and
performance in order to determine their effectiveness for
supporting policy-science interactions as well as to identify
conditions for their successful application.
